Timo Weiland x Tsubo

Fall 2012 marks the second season of collaboration between Timo Weiland and Tsubo.

The capsule collection of footwear for women meshes Tsubo’s superior fit technology with Timo Weiland’s designer, downtown meets uptown aesthetic. This season Timo Weiland and design partner, Alan Eckstein, draw upon influences from downtown New York City in the early nineties, in a post-punk, grunge era, to design footwear that balances a classic aesthetic with an exuberant, urban edge.

Timo Weiland infuses their sense of carefree elegance into the Tsubo designs for Fall 2012 introducing two new boot styles for the season. The Royse boot is a lace-up ankle bootie with a kiltie fringe. The fringe detailing hints at inspiration from schoolgirl uniforms, but is updated in a rebellious take on the style, as it combines a certain sense of whimsy with a sophisticated edge. The Royse is available in two colors that coincide with Timo Weiland’s Fall 2012 color palette, Aubergine and Black. The second style, the Braeden, is a taller, mid-calf high boot with a center seam down the front and a lace-up detailing at the top.  Available in Black, this style completes the dark, romantic narrative of the Fall 2012 collection. The combination of the chunky Braeden boot with the brand’s signature dresses exemplifies the downtown, edge of the Timo Weiland woman.

Timo Weiland continues to expand their collaboration with Tsubo this year, as they gain further appreciation for the footwear brand’s advanced technology and explore the possibilities of how to unite form and function with their signature chic, girl about town edge. — Alexa Winner
